DARIEN, IL — Darien continues to see weekly coronavirus rate increases of less than 1 percent, according to the DuPage County Health Department. As of Sunday, Darien had a total of 1,753 coronavirus cases, up eight from a week before, or a 0.5 percent increase. The previous week, the city saw the same increase in cases. The city's number of coronavirus deaths stayed the same in the last week, at 21. That works out to less than a thousandth of Darien's population. The number of those who have recovered is unavailable. The figure compares to 87.3 in La Grange Park, 90.1 in DuPage County, 92.6 in Hinsdale, 93.8 in Elmhurst, 97.5 in Western Springs, 99.2 in Clarendon Hills, 101.5 in suburban Cook County, 103.9 in Burr Ridge and 119.8 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands). As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,381,665, up 0.4 percent from a week earlier. The number of confirmed deaths so far is 22,794. Nationally, 33.1 million people have caught the virus, up 0.5 percent from the week before. A total of 590,959 people have died from the virus in the United States.
