Description
I have a pair of rosy bourke’s parrots for rehoming. I will not be separating them as they are social creatures and require a companion for a healthy life. They are not hand-tame; I got them this way and I’ve never worked with them to make them hand-tame, though it is possible with time and patience!!!
One is definitely a male (about a year and half old, opaline rainbow in color), and I’m not sure of the other (8 months old, opaline rosy in color) but I believe it is also a male because I have never found eggs (birds lay eggs regardless if they’re fertilized or not).
I spent about $300 ($150 each) total on just the birds, and over $200 on the proper sized cage. There is a rehoming fee as I do not want just anyone to take them - I know what the sickos do to free pets on this website.
$300 for both bourkies, the cage, all their toys, food, millet sprigs, cuttle bone refills — a value well over $600.
I am rehoming them because I am going to have my first baby and although I care for their well-being, I don’t have a deep bond with the birds and I don’t want them anymore while having to adjust to becoming a new mom.
***They CANNOT be housed with budgies (blue/green/yellow/white parakeets). Budgies are more aggressive and will bully the bourke parakeets because bourkes have a more gentle disposition.***
