I agree with you that there is no reason to be flagging posts and a “small” rehoming fee is understandable for shots, crates, toys etc. “But”, there are breeders and people who’s pets that have had litters who are selling puppies at retail prices and hiding it as a “rehoming fee”. This is just dishonest! Then you have those that have older pets that have bonded to them that they for some reason can’t continue to care for and they still want close to breeder prices. Don’t even get me started on those sellers with litters of mutts with no bloodline and they’re still asking $800+. There are a lot of families that would love to have a family pet but who can’t afford $1000+. I know there was a shortage of chicken for a while but I don’t believe anyone has had to result to eating their pets to get their protein.
