Hike Richfield Heritage Preserve and learn about how waterfalls and wetlands are created, why they exist and about the science of hydrology.
Join us in an exploration of the hydrologic features at Richfield Heritage Preserve, including streams, lakes, wetlands, and waterfalls. These features highlight the importance of RHP’s location at the headwaters of the East Branch of the Rocky River. Be prepared for a 3-mile hike over uneven surfaces to see the exciting hydrology at Richfield Heritage Preserve.
This hike will be led by Dr. Carrie Davis Todd, Associate Professor of Geology at Baldwin Wallace University. She is an outdoor enthusiast whose research interests include determining impacts on water quality and quantity in headwater streams. She and her students have studied the health and stability of the streams at RHP for the past several years.
