It seems you are targeting mutts a bit to much. We as humans are mixed. All dogs are mixed to get a pure bred. So what if it is a mutt, designer breed, or hybrid. Can't afford the asking price just look somewhere else. Honestly it would be so much easier if people would just list there outrageous fees so us buyers don't waste our time finding out it is out of our price range. If you can't handle the responsibility of owning an animal then don't buy it. Maybe they said it was the best house dog ever. That was for THEM not you. You are a stranger to that animal. Maybe you locked the dog up in a kennel to long or maybe you were abusing it. How would we know? Tons of reasons to make excuses. Sure go to a Rescue. Any dog breed, MUTTS included, puppies, etc that are in "HIGH DEMAND" will carry a hefty price tag because they only care about money not the home. The cheaper ones have issues that they will never disclose with you. All they want is the money. Honestly you are so judgemental. Probably have been all your life and want to take it out on the mutts in the world. BUT at the end of the day just remember if you are to cheap to pay hundreds or thousands on an animal YOU want then maybe you should own a rock. If you can't afford the fee then move on. P.S. I don't believe your story on your destructive animals. Can you provide proof?
