In recognition of National CPR/AED Awareness week, we are hosting CPR/First Aid Training 100% Free ABOUT US: The Be A LifeSaver Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing free CPR training in select areas across the United States. Our mission is to provide training to various low income, rural, tribal, black and hispanic communities where bystander CPR is not as likely to be performed in comparison to wealthier neighborhoods. Studies have shown that these specific areas have lower rates of survival (as well as lower rates of attempts to perform CPR) when a person goes into cardiac arrest. Much of this is due to lack of training resources as well as funding. Often times, CPR classes are much too expensive for some. So unless a person is required to have certification for work or school, many don't typically see the benefit in paying for a class. Our goal is to "Change The Narrative" by providing this and other life saving trainings to raise the chances of survival and increase bystander performances while waiting for first responders to arrive. Free training may also help with creating job opportunities for those who may be seeking work but can not afford to pay for a certification class. June 5th, 2021 will be our first live event since March 2020 (right before everything shut down due to the pandemic). We are extremely excited to get back to work and fulfill our mission of providing training in areas that need it the most! This course is completely FREE of charge. Participants will receive a 2 year certification in basic CPR/First Aid. All ages welcome! We ask that you please register early as space is limited. We will be strictly enforcing all social distancing and mask guidelines as required by the Library. We gladly accept donations towards future classes, however this is not a requirement of admission.
