Wilderness Survival - Level 2 This is our 2nd class in the wilderness survival progression.
Prerequisite - LEVEL 1**
The wilderness is a place where nature is in charge. Weather, injuries, unexpected problems and situations can put even experienced people at risk. This program is all about learning how to prepare for anything and how to make nature your friend. These skills are available to everyone if they know how to recognize and use them.
Our goal: Have fun.Answer your questions. Have a great time exploring together. Share a practice of awareness and safety. Focus on hands-on learning. We will:Learn the basic tenants of survival in the backcountry. Build a shelter. Light a one-match fire.Identify something edible in nature and how to find it.Learn about different ways to survive in extreme situations. Level 2 - Specifically You Will Learn To:Incorporate items from your survival kitHow to use a saw. Review knots and learn new ones. Review and learn more methodologies for build a shelter using materials we find.Learn to start a fire using materials found in the woodsLearn to make a pine bark basket to boil water.
