Join Ranger John Koepke for a beginnner's guided hike at Government Canyon State Natural Area. Current COVID-19 protocols; masks and social distancing; are strongly encouraged. Join Ranger John Koepke for a guided hike along the Savannah Loop Trail. Total hike is a little over 2 miles in length and suitable for all ages. Who is Invited: Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Registration/reservations required for each person! Sorry, no group registrations. No pets please. When & Where to Meet: Arrive no later than 8:45AM. The Natural Area front gate opens at 7:00AM. Meet in Parking Lot C by the Frontcountry Trailhead. Please be ready to go no later than 8:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 9:00AM. What to Wear & Bring: Current COVID-19 protocols; masks and social distancing; are strongly encouraged. Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two liters of water PER PERSON and a snack. Requirements: No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Participants must be able to hike approximately 2 miles over rocky, uneven ground. Registration, Fees & Cancellation: Registration is required for this hike. Group size is limited to the first 10 that register. Natural Area entry fees apply. This hike is subject to cancellation.
