HELLO East Bay! The Caning Shop (off the corner of Gilman & Eighth) is clearing out the massive chair collection by way of a Sidewalk Sale on June 5th from 10am-2pm. LOTS of antique and vintage chairs in various states of repair and un-repair. Photos are just a SMALL sampling of what's available! With a BIG heart that wanted to keep chairs from the landfill, many chairs were adopted after being "donated", bought for students or abandoned before, during or after being repaired. There are lots of different chairs from bentwood to wicker, rush and woven. Many are perfect for repurposing, restoring, or for other creative projects. We'll be setting up the chairs along the building wall and in the "green belt" between the sidewalk and gutter so the sidewalk right of way will not be impacted. To minimize overcrowding in the shop, we'll be able to accept Venmo, Zelle, Paypal and process credit cards outside. "Plastic" is preferred. If you see anything that catches your eye in the ad, don't hesitate to reach out to Jim at The Caning Shop prior to the sale. Store hours are Tuesday - Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-2 - CLOSED SUN & MON.
