I'm a guitar player/composer looking to form a band and make original music and covers in both english/spanish. Most folks I see in LA are doing pretty much the same thing - 80s rock, grunge, dark metal, etc. So I'm not looking to replicate that model. Would like to work with musicians who like spanish rock (Mana, cafe tabuva, Draco Rosa, Jarabe de Palo, Soda Stereo) but can also jump and mix in a few classics (cuando calienta el sol, guantanamera, besame mucho, la bamba) and give it an alternative twist by including covers of Beatles and Bob Marley while we're at it. Yeah - ambitious. But imagine the results. Could be super interesting for an audience and musically rich. I've already got several copyrighted songs that I can bring to the table to get us started. But would love to work with folks that also can bring some of their songs to the table. Ideally I'd like to get to the studio after we got some material and record a demo. About me: I'm not a professional musician. Meaning I don't live from music. I've been playing guitar on and off since I was 12. I have played in a few bands and have done some studio recordings. I can sing - but it's not what I'm focused on. I've got a full time job and a family. So this is for fun. But I'm committed to making something good if I can find the right musical partners.
