Need help with aggressive dog

I have an aggressive dog that loves our family but hates and tries to attack/ bite everyone else. He has bitten multiple people in the past year and has caused an extreme amount of stress in our family, yet we don’t have it in us to put him down. We got him as a stray puppy in an Native American reservation and honestly think he is half coyote. I’m wondering if there is any hope for him. He is 4. I looked I to training and can’t afford it at this time but I’m desperate.
