A local small business is currently seeking part-time professional development coaches (PDC) to help clients learn what is required to succeed in the workforce. PDC's are essentially our client's motivational and support team. Each client is unique and has different needs, which keeps the job fun, exciting, and full of unexpected challenges. Coaches work directly with an individual on and off a job site to help them learn specific job duties and requirements. The work may include; learning how to apply for jobs, how to interview effectively, find the hidden employment opportunities in the community, dress appropriate for work, encouraging clients to identify, focus and capitalize on their personal strengths and developing proactive tools to improve in areas of need, creating resumes, cover letters and follow-up letters, setting positive work ethic's and understanding employer expectations, develop appropriate work-related social and behavioral norms, communicating effectively with supervisors and co-workers, navigating the workplace for advancement opportunities, help client's identify and set goals, create agendas and timelines and smash their goals by promoting organization and persistence, troubleshoot career issues, develop employment strategies as well as helping clients recognize positive short-term strides and progress while allowing them to reach their long-term goals and other duties as assigned. Must be able to pass a background check through the FBI and DOJ.
