A wood and metal cabinet shop is in need of a shop assistant / general laborer in Hamden. This position requires repetitive work, attention to detail, ability to follow detailed instructions, and attention to safety regulations. Serious, reliable, and hardworking candidates only, please. Tasks include: Preparation of wood and metal parts, including measuring and cutting Wood prep and finishing, including staining, sealing, and sanding Working with hand and power tools Assisting in all areas of manufacturing, construction, organization, and shop maintenance Packing and shipping Assisting with deliveries, off-site installations and assembly when needed; May include some landscaping and other jobsite tasks as needed Experience with hand and power tools is preferred, but training is possible for the right candidate. Construction or other relevant experience is preferred. This position starts at $13 - $18 hourly, based on experience. Part or full time position available. REQUIREMENTS Must have reliable transportation Ability to lift and carry materials up to 80lbs Experience using hand and power tools preferred; will train Prior experience in construction, fabricating, or carpentry a plus
