Description
The Production Worker carries out various tasks in the production department. The prep area has the responsibility to read the recipe (product specification) and prepare, weigh, inspect, clean and set up all the ingredients (raw material) to the product mixing area. • Unboxing or separate the ingredient out the manufactured page and put on a buggy. • Evaluate all the ingredients, sort and reject the ones are not good. • Clean, wash or dry the fresh ingredients (stemming or picking). • Read the recipe and divides the ingredient according with the measure indicate for this mix. • Running the fresh ingredients in the chop line. The packing area is responsible for packing in shipping boxes, the finished product and prepares the pallet to be moved for shipping. • Supply the line with the correctly packing items for the running product. • Assembling the boxes and labeling, proper use of the correct boxes and labels. • Loads the product jar in the box, assurance the date, and the lot are correct. • Assort the product according to the internal packing specification. • Close the boxes or wrapping according to the packaging type. The sanitation area is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all processing and packaging equipment throughout the plant. • Clean the equipment necessary for overall manufacturing and packaging processes which includes conveyor belts, screens, filters, pipes, walls, totes, rollers, tables, and freezers, and ensure proper cleaning procedures are followed. • Clean lines and processing equipment • Check and ensure product specification standards are being met as required by company authorized standards while performing the tasks in a safe and efficient manner. • Keeps working areas in production departments in clean orderly condition, performing any combination of duties. • Cleans floors, using water hose, and applies floor drier. • Inspect areas requiring attention. • Job duties are varied and spread over a number of locations in the plant. Qualifications & Experience • High school diploma/GED required • Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred • Some manufacturing experience preferred with food manufacturing, desirable • Must be able to work OT, whether unscheduled or on Saturdays or Sundays • Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment with temperatures at 38 F to 45 F and strong food odors from fresh cut produce. • Strong work ethic and organizational skills • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment • Able to work on feet for extended periods of time, in a • Reliable mode of transportation • Must be able to read and write in English reading and writing communication. • Basic math knowledge.
