Jesus invites his students to “come away” & “get rest” (Mark 6:31). CSR East invites you to come away & experience Jesus’ invitation! In God we live, move and...have our “new normal”? After more than a year of living through a pandemic, previous patterns of life are slowly returning. While this is welcome news for many, the challenges for pastors are mounting. Ministry is challenging enough as it is! And now, as the new normal emerges, we face challenges we didn’t expect and stresses that loom large ahead of us. Many pastors have wrestled with questions like: How do I bring a greater sense of presence to an already busy schedule?Why is grace for everyone else but me?How do I connect with God in this new season of ministry?Jesus invites his students to “come away” and “get rest” (Mark 6:31). He knew all too well how busy and demanding the pressures of public ministry were. He also modeled to his followers how to crucial it is to find “secluded places to pray” (Lk. 5:16). CSR East invites pastors to come away and experience Jesus’ invitation to live, move and find our being in God. Who is this retreat for: Pastors (full-time and bi-vocational) What is it: a rest-filled retreat at CSR East, a retreat center located in the sweet spot of Southwest VA, with plenty of space and place to unwind. This retreat is designed to help pastors come away, rest with Jesus and reorient towards healthy rhythms of life and ministry. Why retreat?: Unless we find our being in God (Acts 17:28), we will not know how to truly live and move! Rest and reflection gives us the space we need to commune with God and with ourselves. We can also find great encouragement being around those who know the challenges of ministry! When and where is it?: You can arrive at Center for Spiritual Renewal East (Christiansburg, VA) anytime on Wednesday (7/21) or Thursday (7/22). We'll begin with dinner on Thursday evening at 6:00, and orientation following. We'll conclude on Sunday (7/25) at noon. Who is leading the retreat?: David Pinkston, Foursquare Pastor for 3 decades and Certified Spiritual Director Paul Kuzma, Pastoral Counselor & Director of CSR East, and Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Course Coach & Director of Course Coaches. How much?: $175 per person (includes a lodge room with 2 twin beds & a bathroom, and all meals, which are very high quality and catered) A very limited number of apartments are available for an "add-on" ticket cost of $80. What is the best way to get there?: If flying, ROA is preferable, only a 35 minutes drive, or we can arrange pick up – or CLT, which is a 2.5 hour drive requiring rental car.
