Spectacular eruption of colors when soap interacts with fat in the milk. Then we will use ink or paint for Marbling paper. Summer class: 3 hours workshop3D design & Print - Lithophane!June 30, 1 - 4 pmJuly 7, 1 - 4 pmIn-person workshop at the Rockville Science Center (RSC), we will follow CDC, State and County guidelines; social distancing and wearing face masks will be respected. RSC is a well ventilated big space. Number of participants is limited to 10, please register. Visualization of the interaction between soap and fat/lipids as a spectacular eruption of colors . Then we will use ink or paint to create designs that can be captured on paper (Paper Marbling). Age: ≥ 6 Description: How the soap is made? Which part of the soap molecule interacts with fat/ lipids?Make spectacular paintingsCreate designs with ink and/or paint and capture the design on a paper (Marbling).Materials provided: Whole milk - Dish soap - Food colorant - Ink - Paint - Q tips - Plates. Paper treated with Alum.
