Midwest Cypher Rap Battle Everybody think they can rap until its time to show TF in that ring and give it your best shot. Indianapolis Indiana will be holding its first Midwest Cypher Rap Battle. This battle is not for the WEAK and only the STRONG will survive, nothing is off LIMITS!!!!! There can only be one $5000.00 winner, again there can only be one $5000.00 winner lets see who takes this shit for the MIDWEST Come out and enjoy the freestyles, drinks, competition, and half time show performance by Erika Banks (Buss It) ENTRY CRITERIA 1. Contestant must abide by the eligibility rules of MIDWEST CYPHER RAP BATTLE. 2. NOTHING is off LIMITS, so if your feelings are easily hurt STAY TF HOME. 3. 18 and UP 4. Entry/Registration fee is $200.00 (Can be paid under Tickets) 5. Waiver & Release of Liability: Each rapper must submit a Release of Liability Form and Waiver prior to the competition from liability for any accident or injury occurring to the artist/rapper prior to, during, or after the competition. 6. Rappers are required to complete the registration form and submit the registration form before the date of the competition. Rap Battle Judging Criteria PRESENCE - Charisma, Swagger, Character... DELIVERY - You could write the dopest bar we've ever heard, but if you don't say it with the right conviction, the line won't hit. RELEVANCE - A punchline that actually applies to your opponent beats a generic mom/gay joke, or idol threats every time. RULES and GUIDELINES 1. Do not bite (copy) someone else work. Your freestyle must be 100% original material and shall not infringe upon any third party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights. 2. The organizer/promoter will appoint the timekeeper. He/She will be provided with a stopwatch and will be responsible for indicating the end of each round. The clock starts from the beginning of the first line spoken by the competitor. 3. For the preliminary round of competition rappers will be given two rounds each for one 1 minute, semi- finals will be given 1 min and final round will be given 1min and 30 sec. 4.Rappers must rhyme over the same beat as their opponent. 5. By participating in this event you permit the recording of your contributions and assign to the organizers the complete copyright and all other rights in your contributions for use in all media. JUDGING 1. The judging panel must be consisting of five (5) judges. 2. Judges must make their decision as to the winner of each round independently and will have an opportunity to explain their decisions. 3. In the case of a round where the judges cannot reach a decision each rapper will be asked to perform an extra verse for forty five 1 min and the concept/topic should be given by the judges. (WE don't want it to come to this) 4. Decision by the judges is final. There is no appeal process and PROTEST - are prohibited and will not be accepted regarding any score or result of a decision. What will get you disqualified 1. ALL Rappers are to remain at least 6 feet from one another 2. NO touching one another 3. NO spitting 4. No Posturing 5. No property destruction WINNER takes home $5000.00 and Champion belt all others take home a plaque for attending the first annual Midwest battle
