Each barrel is a study in patience and only nominated for selection after weather, wood, and whiskey have united to yield a distinct, cask-strength whiskey with a depth and complexity deserving of the Single Barrel designation. To complement the exquisite whiskey from the hand-selected barrels, the bottles released annually for this private barrel selection program will be unique unto themselves. Four artists will be selected by Kaveh Zamanian each year to create original limited-edition illustrations representing one Single Barrel expression of Rabbit Hole’s four core whiskeys. The artists for each of these whiskey expressions will create a series of six illustrations that offer a personal interpretation of a theme created by Kaveh for each release. As an expression of Rabbit Hole’s reverence for the creative arts, each bottle will be designed to allow the exclusive illustrations to have the maximum amount of design space, providing the artists with a new medium for creativity. Launching in June 2021 with a Single Barrel release of Rabbit Hole Heigold high rye bourbon and expanding to other Rabbit Hole expressions, 10 barrels were personally selected by Kaveh Zamanian for their taste and complexity for release in 2021 and will be available to individuals, groups and on and off-premise retailers exclusively in Kentucky. Featuring the top-rated Heigold mash bill (70% corn, 25% malted rye, 5% malted barley) personally created by Kaveh, made with a proprietary cooking process, distilled at Rabbit Hole, aged in #3 wood-fired, toasted and charred new American Oak and bottled at cask strength, each bottle of Rabbit Hole Heigold Single Barrel will sell for a suggested retail price of $105.99. To ensure that this singular release is available to the greatest number of whiskey connoisseurs and collectors, Rabbit Hole has imposed a limit of one bottle per person. The debut release premiering on June 14 will feature the illustrations of celebrated Korean watercolorist and fashion illustrator Kasiq Jungwoo Lee. Kaveh commissioned Kasiq to take a modern interpretation of the classic Lewis Carroll characters and the result is six, vibrant illustrations featuring Alice, The White Rabbit, The Hatter, The Queen, The King and The Headsman. Each six-bottle case will contain a bottle with each label design and features special glass and cork sourced exclusively for the Single Barrel program.
