Hosted by the Brown County Museum of History, this workshop is an exciting opportunity for budding writers. A novelist, journalist, sports analyst and college instructor, Lewis—formerly of the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram—was the first female writer to cover the Dallas Cowboys beat She is the author of the best-selling When the Men Were Gone, a novel based on the true story of the woman who coached football in Brownwood, Texas in World War II. Lewis is excited to meet local students and lead fun-filled sessions that engage kids, helping them discover their talents and hone their skills. Tickets for a meet & greet for Coffee, Pie & Conversation with Marjorie at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the museum, are also available. “I am tremendously excited to be working with young people who want to learn fiction writing, and I look forward to being in Brownwood to see everyone.” Marjorie Herrera Lewis
