The International Surf Festival Surfing Championships will be held on the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. The International Surf Festival Surfing Championships will be held on the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. This venue is one of the premier surfing locations in the South Bay. This surf contest is one of the original events of the International Surf Festival when the event began in 1962. This year marks the 58th annual contest. The 2021 International Surfing Championships we will consist of Groms, Junior, Men’s and Women's Long Board snd Short Board events.  Grom's 12 and Under - any board OK Junior's 13 - 16 Men's Short Board 17 and Up (also medals to 50 & Over) Women's Short Board Women's Long Board Long Board Junior (20 and Under) Long Board Men's 21 and Up (also medals to 60 and Over You may register for a SECOND EVENT for only $15.00 ​Medals will be awarded to all finalist and T-shirt’s to all competitors.  A competitors only raffle will be held. Long Boards must be 9 ft or 3 ft over head. Two rounds guaranteed.  All elimination rounds will be 4 person heats of 20 minutes. If available.  If postponed due to weather or poor conditions when will the make up be?  The contest will be re-held the following Saturday.  When will I get my goodie bag if the contest is postponed?  Bags may be picked up on original scheduled day or make up day.  Who will receive T-shirts?  T-shirts are guaranteed to pre registration entries received by July 25, 2021  What determines board length?  A short board is 7’6” or under.  A long board is 9’ or 3’ over your head.  How many contestants advance?  50% of the contestants will advance per heat in each round.
