Help Colt,.slated for euthansia

A friend just got word that the city has decided to euthanize her 5 year old terrier mix, after seizing him after a four day run loose in Eureka a few months ago. There was a hearing and an appeal but it was closed to others. Colt has a prior bite incident three years ago with no further incidents after that but was deemed "vicious" because insurance was involved. In the weeks prior to his seizure his home was disassembled because the owners were moving to a boat. The boat began to sink somewhere south and the owners and Colt were airlifted out. Spooked, upon return to Eureka he escaped. He bit no-one during this time. The owners pleaded.to let them leave for Mendocino but he was still seized. Now he is to be euthanized. Please call animal control and the shelter,if he is still alive maybe we can help.
