Description
This meditative sound bath session was curated with the goal to normalize self-care for black and brown people through holistic practices.
This even is curated with black wellness as the prominent theme. Tori's aim is to normalize self-care through holistic practices and hold space for her people to heal. See below for more details.
The significance of the date of this event:
Juneteenth is formed from the words "June" and "19th," because June 19, 1865, is what Afro- Americans recognized as the true date that slaves were freed. Over the past year we have been severely retraumatized due to the circulation of the brutalities experienced by black and brown Americans on social media. This event offers a space for reflection and release surrounded by our ancestors and allies and powered by collective intention; we will heal.
