MEDFORD, MA — Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn and the Medford High School GSA, led by co-advisors Nicole Chalifoux and Emily Simpson, will host a flag raising ceremony at City Hall Tuesday, June 1 to mark Pride Month in Massachusetts. Students from the GSA will join the mayor at the flag pole at 3 p.m. to raise the Pride flag. "I am excited to join the Medford High GSA once again this year to celebrate the beginning of Pride month with a flag raising here at City Hall," Lungo-Koehn said. "This year, it will be even more special to be able to come together as a larger group, and I invite all members of the Medford community to join us for the brief ceremony outside of City Hall on June 1." The Pride flag will fly throughout the month of June. "The Medford High School Gay Straight Alliance is very excited to kick off Pride month by raising the Pride flag with Mayor Lungo-Koehn at City Hall for the second year in a row," Chalifoux and Simpson said. "Raising the Pride Flag at City Hall is significant in not only celebrating our LGBTQ+ community but having the flag on display also reminds us of the importance of every color of the rainbow."
