WAUKESHA, WI—The holiday weekend may involve grilling out and other fun activities. The Waukesha Fire Department hopes everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend. The following are safety tips and reminders: Open fires are permitted between the hours of 3 p.m.-12 a.m. Rules include the following - the fire is at least 25 feet from any structure, in a below-ground fire pit or outdoor fireplace and wind speeds are not over 10 miles per hour. Keep your grill away from any siding, deck rails and eaves; clean your grill after each use; open your gas grill before lighting; never use a gas-fired grill inside any structure (even your garage). Fireworks are not allowed. No person shall sell, expose, offer for sale, use, keep discharge or explode any fireworks in the City.
