Press release from Fox Valley Technical College:
May 27, 2021
If you received a vaccine shot at the Fox Cities COVID-19 vaccine clinic, chances are good you were helped in some way by a Fox Valley Technical College Nursing student.
Since the clinic opened in February, FVTC nursing students and instructors have been a consistent presence at the clinic. In fact, 142 Nursing students provided 310 hours of service while covering 62 shifts at the clinic. The students were from the Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing and the RN Associate Degree programs.
"The FVTC faculty and students have been a tremendous asset to the Fox Cities COVID vaccine clinic," said City of Appleton Health Officer Kurt Eggebrecht. "The students performed various roles including educators and vaccinators. These future leaders became recognized as valuable professionals within the clinic and we are grateful for the support provided by FVTC to the Tri-County region."
The clinic is now closed after administering almost 33,000 doses to the community.
