NAUGATUCK, CT — Firefighters extinguished a fire at the Horizon Homes apartment complex on Andrew Avenue in Nautauck early Friday, but the blaze damaged a unit, leading to the temporary displacement of a family, according to fire officials. The fire was reported just after 6 a.m. and appears to have started in the basement of Building #17. No injuries were reported, but the residents of the building were evacuated while fire crews doused the fire. The displaced family is receiving support from the American Redcross. Naugatuck fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
