We are currently hiring a repair tech to assist with metal repairs on fire escapes. We prefer applicants to have experience working with metal and painting. Applicants need to be comfortable working at heights between 10 feet and 100+ feet. Essential Functions and Duties: - Assist Repair Team Leader with setting up at the jobsite and clean up after - Setting up extension and A-frame ladders, and tarps - Use hand and power tools to fabricate parts from 1/4" thick steel and 1" diameter pipe - Remove rust from existing parts to prepare surfaces, and apply paints to protect parts - Maintain safety and personal protection while at the jobsite Desirable skills: - Use of extension and A-frame ladders - Knowledgeable use of hand (hammers, chisels, combination wrenches, etc.) and power tools (drill, cutoff wheel and impact driver, etc.) - Use of water-based and oil-based paints and cleaning brushes - Must be able to read, write and communicate in clear English - Must have a positive attitude - Must have a consistent work history and verifiable references - Must be able to get to work on time reliably - Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check - Must have a valid driver's license Our company is extremely busy, with a very good reputation in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley for fire escape inspection, maintenance, testing and repairs.
