Description

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – Dan Stinger is running on the Democratic ticket for the State Senate in the 30th District. He is joined on the ticket by Assembly candidates Matt Filosa and Stephen Dobbins Name: Daniel D. Stinger Age: 31 Town: Howell Career: Real Estate Management Education: B.A. in Political Science from York College of Pennsylvania Family: Wife Christina and nine-month-old daughter Charlotte Why are you running for office?I am running for office to bring responsive community leadership back to LD30 and to bring a fresh, first-person perspective on how to solve the problems in our district and state after 40 years of the same out-of-touch representation. What is your platform? My running mates and I want LD30 to bounce back from this pandemic stronger and more prosperous than ever. We want to bring jobs back to our district through more investments in infrastructure in the way of solar and wind energy. Utilizing our vast, unused natural resources to make clean, renewable energy will create high-paying jobs right here in our district. Many of these jobs will be trade-focused, so we also want to make sure our education system is ready for that by allocating more state resources and funding to education, especially in vocational programs. With our property taxes being the highest in the nation, providing more state funding to education overall would lessen the tax burden on residents. Do you have previous experience in the world of politics and government?I am a committee member of the Howell Municipal Alliance currently and am involved in advocating for mental health awareness. I have also fundraised and volunteered for countless charities over the years. What is the most important issue facing your constituency, and how do you plan to deal with it?The most immediate issue facing our constituency is bringing the economy back from the decimation of our small businesses due to the pandemic. We can accomplish this and have a stronger economy in NJ than ever through modernizing our infrastructure, providing relief to our small businesses, and providing incentives for folks to go back to work, such as vocational training for those out of work to get started in a new industry. Why should voters vote for you?Voters should vote for me because, as a member of our community, I am acutely aware of the problems our community faces. I grew up in LD30, went to school in LD30, work all over LD30, and chose to raise my family in LD30. I love this district and our state, and I am prepared to do whatever it takes to make New Jersey a better place to live for everyone.
