Board Approves New 7-Eleven For Morristown

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Following many hearings and trips back to the drawing board, Morristown officials approved 7-Eleven's relocation efforts. The Planning Board unanimously voted Thursday in favor of building the convenience store at Morris and Pine Streets. 7-Eleven was one of several stores demolished in the Morris Street strip mall that became the site for the M Station office redevelopment. Many of the businesses have relocated or made plans to move elsewhere in the Morristown area. But before Thursday's approval, hours of hearings took place at Planning Board meetings from February through April. The applicant dropped plans for second-story offices. The site for the new 7-Eleven currently has an Exxon station. Board Chair Joseph Stanley thanked 7-Eleven for its efforts in negotiations. "I really do want to thank the applicant for working very closely with the town," Stanley said. "It may seem arduous but I think that it's resulted in a much nicer product and I wish you many, many years of success in Morristown." Thanks for reading.
