Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Wellington

WELLINGTON, CO — A small airplane made an emergency landing Friday north of Fort Collins after its engine failed, according to Northern Colorado Regional Airport officials. The plane landed in a field in Wellington, officials said. Search and rescue operations were underway. Two people were on the plane, and they were taken to area hospitals, the Wellington Fire Protection District said. The extent of their injuries was not known. The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating. No further details about the crash were released. @WellingtonFire1 and @poudrefire are on scene on a small single engine plane crash. Two people were on board. Both were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
