WHEATON, IL — Five cars were burglarized, a wallet was stolen from a cart at Whole Foods, tires were slashed, and other incidents were reported in the Wheaton Police Department's crime blotter for the third week of May. The following incidents were reported to Wheaton police between May 17 and May 23: Wallet Stolen at Whole Foods, 89 Danada Sq. E. A shopper at Whole Foods told police someone stole a wallet from their purse, which had been left in an unattended shopping cart. Police say the victim's credit cards were used after the theft, which took place May 15 just after 4 p.m. 2 Cars Burglarized in the 500 block of West Harrison Street Police say someone rummaged through the interior of two cars that had been left unlocked in a driveway at the above address. The burglary took place sometime between 10 p.m. May 20 and 6 a.m. May 21. 2 Cars Burglarized in 1700 block of North Washington Street Sometime between 10 p.m. on May 20 and 8 a.m. on May 21, two unlocked cars were burglarized at the above address. Police say change was stolen. Car Burglarized in the 2000 block of North Washington Street An unlocked car was burglarized and change was stolen sometime between 11:30 p.m. May 20 and 8 a.m. May 21. Storage Unit Burglarized in the 200 block of Reber Street Police say several items were taken from a storage unit that was burglarized sometime between 5 p.m. on May 22 and 9:30 p.m. May 23. Tires Slashed in the 400 block of North President Street On May 17, all four tires were punctured on a car parked in a lot at the above location. The incident took place sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to call the Wheaton Police Department at 630-260-2161.
