Description

The parrotlet parrot might be small in size but it is big in personality. They love to play and explore and sing so sweetly. These pint-size parrots are bold and assertive, and they can learn to talk, too. That's right; these tiny little birds are indeed parrots―in fact, Parrotlets are the smallest birds in the parrot family, even smaller than Budgies! It might come as a surprise to many, but the Parrotlet's closest relative is actually the large and impressive Amazon Parrot, which may account for many of the behavioral traits these little birds exhibit. They also resemble their larger cousins closely in the looks department, which is why many people affectionately refer to them as "Pocket Parrots." I rescued the female and male, they are from what I was told 16 months old. I was told they were too young to breed, when I got them... 5 babies later I have 7 now and just too many. Mom and Dad (Peekaboo & Lil Boy Blue) are very bonded and will take some patience. They have to stay together. I can pick them up but they are not fond of it, before the babies I had worked with them and they would step up. The 3 babies I am rehoming are 5 months old and also bonded but I feel they would be fine separated, before the last 2 babies they would play with me but when they stay together they becoming more of a flock and bond with each other. The last 2 girls I am keeping. Please have your own cage and have experience with birds. My birds love fresh veggies, grains, beans, fresh fruit, pellet, and seeds. There will be a rehoming fee.
