CHICAGO (CBS) — The quick-thinking star's latest bit of sorcery led to a comedy of errors by the reeling Pittsburgh Pirates, keying a two-run rally in a 5-3 victory on Thursday. "They say I improvise. I don't know — at the moment, you know, I can react pretty fast," Báez said. "I'm pretty good at tagging and not letting people tag me."
"Only Javy disappears on the basepaths more than any person I've seen. It really is a magic act. He just makes crazy things happen. I've seen it," Cubs manager David Ross said of Báez. "You know, he runs in moments and guys just forget how to play baseball sometimes."
