CHARLOTTE, NC — Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff for summer and a great excuse to fire up the grill. In Charlotte, it's also a weekend for motorsports fans to enjoy the gut rumbling spectacle of NASCAR Cup cars tearing around the speedway.
NASCAR's annual Coca-Cola 600 is set to run Sunday, May 30 beginning at 6 p.m. This year, the race will be broadcast on Fox.
This year marks the 62nd anniversary of the race at the track on Memorial Day weekend.

This year's event at Charlotte Motor Speedway features a pre-race military salute with demonstrations from Fort Bragg, along with performances by the 82nd Airborne Chorus.
