WEST VILLAGE, NY — The seven-day average of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in New York City continues an upward trend. As of Thursday, more than 8.1 million shots in arms have been given — that includes both first and second doses. More than half of NYC residents, or 50.2 percent, have received at least one vaccine. About 42 percent are fully vaccinated. But how does the West Village stack up to the city's overall numbers? According to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the average rate for residents fully vaccinated in the area's 10011, 10012, 10014 and 10003 area ZIP codes is about 60 percent — which is around 18 percentage points higher than NYC's combined rate. The average rate for residents partially vaccinated in the entire West Village is around 69 percent — about 19 percent more than NYC's overall rate.
