I got the funky bass. I've been playing for a few years. I'm pretty versatile, but I'm most comfortable in the funk/rock side of things. I'm hoping to find some jam band to get together with every once in a while and maybe record some originals if it all meshes. I got all my own gear and my own transportation (less an amp, but I have a DI to plug direct into a PA/mixer).
