Hey there, I’m a fully vaccinated singer/songwriter looking for a fully vaccinated creative partner (or partners) to write & record with. Guitarists, keys, producers/engineers primarily. Your songs, my songs, songs we write together. It could be just the one, an EP, or even a full album depending on the chemistry of the people involved. I’ve recorded in pro studios, and done it DIY style. All that matters to me is the effort & the end result. I’m able to meet up once, occasionally twice a week to collaborate on/hone material. Not really looking to form/join a gigging band at this point. Or to replace another singer in an existing entity. I’d rather just concentrate on the creative aspect than worrying about trying to fill out a full band to play out. I do however like doing guest spots on other folks records, kind of like how Lanegan did with the QOTSA. Musically, I’m very open. I’ve primarily been in hard rock bands, but good songwriting is good songwriting. I like a bit of everything. Mostly Hard Rock, Motown, Rockabilly, Classic Country & Americana. I love Metal, but I’m not looking to do Metal. I’m not interested in doing covers. My preference is for working with people who are focused, open minded & experienced in making records. A few bands/artists I’m into - Soundgarden, Rival Sons, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Roy Orbison, Tom Waits, Mark Lanegan, Killing Joke, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Freddie Scott, Jeff Buckley & Manchester Orchestra. My voice is basically a heavy tenor voice. Wide range. I enjoy singing, screaming & crooning in equal measure. I consider lyric writing a strength. I play some guitar & keys, but I’m a singer first & foremost. I’m in my mid 40s, so folks in their 30s-50s are probably the best fit. Your gender/race/identity/appearance are non issues for me. I only care that you show up at the agreed upon time & put the work in. I lean left, but count both progressive liberals & old school conservatives amongst my friends. I’m not gonna fit in with the MAGA hat crowd or QANON conspiracy theorists. At all. Alcohol & 420 in moderation are fine. I live out in Newberg, but all my pre pandemic projects were Portland based, so coming into PDX is not an issue for me. I would prefer not to venture up into WA though, just too long of a hike.
