We are seeking a drummer who would like to be part of a fun group of generally older folks who like to get together Sunday afternoons casually, to make music purely for the fun of it. This is something that we've been doing now going on ten years - that is, until the pandemic derailed us.
And now we're going to get it going again, starting Sunday, June 6! What's different is that we are asking everyone to either have completed their COVID vaccinations - or that they have the antibodies - and until the CDC says different, this will not be a negotiable thing. We have the space for decent distancing and masks are requested for anyone not singing.
And we need a drummer.
A typical session sees us with multiple guitars, a sax or two, a mandolin, a violin, a bass and the occasional keyboard - along with several vocalists. We work with a play list of titles that are generally old rock songs, going all the way back to the 60s, as chosen by our singers. We start playing at 1:30 and usually wrap by about 5:30 or so, with breaks in between. It is all very casual and there are no commitments or obligations involved with participation. Folks are free to show up when they can and we just go with who's there. This also means that our makeup of instruments and vocalists can vary a bit from week to week. The one exception is our bass player, who is also the coordinator for the session, and thus always there.
If this sounds like something you'd like to know more about, please reply to this ad and I'll be happy to tell you more than you want to know.
Thanks for looking!
