SUMMARY: The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under Superintendent supervision, the assistant directs and participates in the maintenance of the courses greens, tees, fairways, rough, and paths; supervises the operation, maintenance, and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment, and does related work as required. The assistant may serve in the superintendent capacity during his/her absence, and modify daily assignments as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following: • Assists in the planning and supervising the maintenance on course property; schedules work; and supervises the employees and the use of the equipment. • Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment. • Supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment. • Supervises and participates in the operation of pumps and irrigation controls, is directly involved with the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems. • Maintain shop working area neat in an orderly fashion, observe and maintain safe working conditions in compliance will all laws • Ability to keep current with industry trends, and continue with education and training throughout career • Keep all areas clean and sanitized as directed. • Other duties as assigned Apply at: santaclaran.com/en/careers.html www.santaclaran.com
