Description

Assist in fabrication of stock and custom millwork projects. This position also assists in warehouse duties such as: operating forklift or manually moving product around the warehouse, stocking/sorting product or other materials, and loading and unloading trucks/trailers and customer vehicles. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in fabrication of stair parts, tables, handrail, trim kits, circle tops, custom moldings, etc., as assigned Prepare materials per specifications (size/mill) Set up, inspect, and operate: drill presses, table saw, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, wood-nailing machines, molding machines, and other specialized pieces of woodworking machinery Unload material and shipments by hand, utilize equipment provided to work safely and efficiently follow all safety protocols and rules Replace stock as received/sold Keep yard and building areas clean, free of debris, and organized Greet and engage customers promptly Suggest related and/or additional products needed to complete their project Assist customer in moving product, and loading vehicle, when needed COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of residential millwork build process Knowledge of operating millwork machines: power saws, planers, sanders, lathes, jointers, and routers used for cutting and shaping parts of lumber, plywood, and other wood products Skill and accuracy with mathematical concepts and calculations CAD, Molding machine operation and experience with CNC routers is a huge plus. REQUIREMENTS: 2 years of carpentry or building industry experience Lift 80 lbs. above head Stand, sit, bend, kneel and repetitive lifting for 8 hrs. Climb stairs while carrying heavy objects Can get in and out of vehicle repeatedly during shift Have reliable transportation and ability to be certified to operate machinery Over 18 and achieved a GED/High School diploma
