A unique and safe experience for New Haven locals with proceeds benefitting your favorite local restaurants! This summer, get ready to enjoy one-of-a-kind picnic baskets curated by New Haven’s favorite local restaurants while you lounge with friends or family on your own special picnic set up in Temple Plaza! On June 25th, Picnic in the Plaza is partnering with Elm City Social to curate their own take on a picnic basket meal. Meals will be accompanied by two craft cocktails from Ordinary. Each basket will cost $45, and will be available for pickup at 5:00 on the designated date. Attendees can bring their own picnic blankets or utilize the chairs and tables already set up in the plaza and will enjoy FREE curated entertainment! We’re excited to bring this experience to you in collaboration with the Town Green District and Ordinary! The purchase of each ticket not only supports the NHV restaurant community and guarantees a good time, but provides support to the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK), an organization that offers meals and support to those experiencing food insecurity in the New Haven area. Here’s what you need to know about this limited experience happening this summer: Picnic baskets will be available for pickup between 5:00pm–5:30pm at Temple Plaza where you can enjoy a socially distanced night of outdoor entertainment.Ordinary will be doing a cocktail demonstration at 6:00pm each evening.Baskets are $45 per person.Make sure to bring your own blankets, pillows, or chairs, and anything else to make your most picture-worthy picnic set up ever!June 25 | Elm City Social Regular Picnic Basket German Potato Salad (red bliss potato, bacon, dill, caraway seed, parsley)Elm City Club (house brined & smoked sliced turkey, jalapeño bacon, heirloom tomato, lettuce, mayo, Atticus sourdough)Vegetarian Picnic Basket Truffled Devil Eggs (house deviled egg blend)Summer Salad Bowl (local bean medley, zucchini, heirloom tomato, bell pepper, red onion, cara cara orange, parsley, oregano vinaigrette)Cocktails (in partnership with Beam Suntory) Collins (Roku Gin, Bell Pepper Shrub, Soda Water)Gold Rush (Toki Whiskey, Spiced Honey Syrup, Lemon)**Specialty Non-Alcoholic Mocktails are also available** Live musical entertainment will be provided by Sonia Morant! Health and Safety Event Guidelines The event is pre-ticketed. All guests who purchased a picnic box containing alcohol must bring a valid form of ID (drivers license, passport) to the event. Guests will be given 21+ wristbands.Space is limited. Please plan to arrive early if you are hoping for turf space. All others will be assigned to bistro tables.Masks must be worn when moving around the Plaza. Masks may be removed once seated, however must be put back if getting up for any reason. Event staff reserves the right to remove any guest or group found not following these health & safety guidelines.
