June 21-24, PAARI will host a 30-hour CCAR Recovery Coach Academy for Plymouth County police departments and their community partners. The Police Assisted Addiction & Recovery Initiative (PAARI) provides training and support to help reduce opioid overdoses and create non-arrest pathways to treatment and recovery. By creating pathways to treatment and recovery, PAARI-affiliated police departments are saving lives, reducing crime, diverting people from the criminal justice system, saving time and resources, and increasing community trust and wellbeing. PAARI currently partners with more than 620 police departments nationwide. Learn more at paariusa.org This 30-hour training will enhance the knowledge and skills of law enforcement officers who will be supporting people on their recovery journeys. It is designed for law enforcement officers who work alongside recovery coaches, recovery coaches who work alongside law enforcement, any officer who would like to improve engagement and provide assistance for those seeking treatment and recovery, and anyone else looking to enter the recovery coach field. Upon completion of this training, participants will better understand addiction, treatment, and recovery, which will improve their ability to help those seeking evidence-based treatment and recovery from an addiction to opioids and other drugs. This course delivers CCAR’s 30-hour Recovery Coach Academy for a law enforcement audience and participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for CCAR’s Recovery Coach Academy as well as a PAARI Certificate of Completion. Attendance is required all 4 days, from 9am to 4pm each day. The training will take place in person at Carver Police Department, 3 Center Street, Carver, MA 02330. Registration is available by invitation only for PAARI-affiliated police departments and their partners, wiith priority given to Plymouth County police departments and their community partners.
