Quincy, MA– The Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ reopening after lifting restrictions from COVID-19 at the end of the May couldn’t come at a better time for Q Pride Day, which is scheduled for June 6 at Pageant Field in Quincy. “This year’s Q Pride Festival will be a really fun day to get everyone back together after the long onslaught of being coped up inside from COVID”, said Richard Ash, Quincy Pride President. Quirk Auto Dealers, Arbella Insurance, the City of Quincy and South Shore Bank are just a few of several premier corporate partners who are this year’s Q Pride Day sponsors. “We are very excited, as a smaller non-profit organization, to have corporate sponsors like Quirk. When members of our community see businesses back them and sponsor events like this, I think they feel more accepted and recognized”, said Ash. While there is still a lot to work to do, Ash is encouraged by the growing support of local businesses. “By attending the festival, it’s a really good way to build stronger relationships with others in the neighborhood and our business partners can walk away feeling like they’re a part of a community that’s right in their backyard”, said Ash. In addition to games, musical performances, puppeteer story time and face painting, a dog costume contest will be a new addition to this year’s Q Pride Day family-friendly celebration. “We’ve heard from many people in our community about how their pets helped them cope while being in isolation, so the Prideful Dog Costume Contest was something we came up with as a way to pay homage to pets while bringing a new fun element to this year’s festival,” said Ash. The Q Pride Day festival will be held on Sunday, June 6 from 12:00 pm-4 p.m. To sponsor the event, donate a raffle item and/or host a vendor table, contact Sheika Babin at [email protected], or Richard Ash at [email protected].
