Description

STAMFORD, CT — The fourth annual Make Music Stamford Downtown will take place on Monday, June 21. Make Music Day is a free celebration of music held around the world on June 21. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. This year, Stamford Downtown will join hundreds of cities around the globe as the beginning of summer is observed. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto sidewalks, parks and patio cafés to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public. Musicians will be hosted throughout Stamford Downtown on Monday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at locations including Latham Park, Mill River Park, Old Town Hall, Stamford URBY and Ferguson Library Plaza. Musicians of all abilities and genres are invited to showcase their talent and share their love of music. The event is an all-ages, all-inclusive celebration of music. There is no fee to participate.
