The basics of Through Tenons in woodworking.
This class will be all about the art of Through Tenons. These are super useful, strong and aesthetically pleasing joints used in the production of many types of fine furniture. We'll learn how to layout and cut tenons, mortises, wedges and pegs (a.k.a. tusks). We'll use the tenoning jig and the mortiser to create the joints and add details on the bandsaw and edge sander. Each attendee will be given a kit of prepared materials to make and take home a stylish two shelf unit for spices or bric a brac ($50 value). This class will have the most benefit to intermediate woodworkers, but all skill/experience levels are welcome.
Protective eyewear required (some available at shop). Some tablesaw experience helpful, but not required. Must be 18 or older to attend.
