Press release from the Montgomery County Department of Police: May 26, 2021 Detectives from the 1st District Patrol Investigations Unit are investigating thefts from ten unlocked vehicles that occurred during the overnight hours of May 17 into May 18 in the Potomac area.   Residential surveillance video shows multiple suspects travelling in a dark color sedan checking vehicle door handles to see if the vehicles were unlocked.  The suspects gained access to the unlocked vehicles that were parked in driveways and on the street and stole property.   There were numerous auto thefts that also occurred in the Potomac area during the same timeframe and investigators are looking in the possibility that those vehicle thefts were committed by the same suspects.   Anyone with information about these crimes or suspects involved is asked to call 1st District investigators at 240-773-6093 or contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS (8177) or online or via the app.  Callers can remain anonymous.
