Man Flees Hospital, Carjacks Vehicle In Parking Ramp: Police

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A patient who left UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center carjacked an individual who was eating his lunch in their vehicle parked in the medical center's parking garage. The incident occurred Wednesday shortly after 2 p.m. Officers initially responded to the hospital for a report of a "mental health consumer" who left the hospital while being cared for there. While responding to the first call, the second call came in about the carjacking, the police department noted. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the hospital patient, 34-year-old Brian Terince Nesbitt of Baltimore, opened the victim's passenger side car door, got into the vehicle and instructed the driver to "get him out of there." Afraid, the victim drove to the Horizons building located at 200 Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie, at which time Nesbitt asked the victim to give him his pants so he could remove his hospital gown, according to a police report. The carjacking victim climbed out of the vehicle and handed over his pants. Nesbitt put on the victim's pants and took off in the victim's vehicle. The victim was uninjured. Police searched the area and couldn't find Nesbitt, who police believe is homeless and currently in Baltimore City, the department noted.
