Description

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Police arrested a 34-year-old White Plains man on Wednesday night after they found a knife and marijuana in his car during a traffic stop. Around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were patrolling Delavan Avenue in the Byram section of town when they observed a vehicle being operated with no front license plate on display. According to police, it was determined that the vehicle had a Texas temporary dealer registration affixed to the rear only, so a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, Travis Campbell, was found with individual packages containing marijuana on his person. Officers reasonably assumed the marijuana was packaged for sale, according to the police report. A small digital scale was also found in Campbell's car, as well as a spring loaded gravity folding knife. Campbell was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Campbell was released after posting 10% of his $1,000 bond. He has a court date of June 28 in Stamford.
