Parade Of Watsonville Homes Gives Owners Decorating Independence

WATSONVILLE, CA — Although Watsonville's traditional annual July 4 Main Street parade won't take place again this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, local residents have the opportunity to show their spirit in a different type of celebration. The Parks and Community Service Department is inviting local residents to participate in the Spirit of Watsonville Neighborhood Parade, which will feature area homes being decorated like parade floats, city officials said. Homes may be decorated following any theme a homeowner chooses and the decorating can be done by the homeowners, a local not-for-profit, church youth group or even by a professional decorator. There is no entry fee and starter kits are available to the first 50 participating homes, businesses, or organizations.
