WAYNE, NJ — A former Northern Highlands High School music teacher allegedly engaged in sexual conversations with a minor, and also provided them with pornographic materials, the Bergen County Prosecutor announced.
Kyle Kubicki, of Wayne, was arrested this week and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and providing obscenity to a minor.
The arrest comes after the New Jersey Institutional Abuse Investigation Unit contacted the Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit to report information about Kubicki's "sexually inappropriate conduct with a child under the age of eighteen." The Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department received similar information about Kubicki, the prosecutor said.
An investigation followed, which determined that Kubicki both engaged in sexually explicit conversation, but also provided "pornographic material to a child under the age of eighteen for the purpose of sexual gratification," the prosecutor said.
Kubicki was transferred to Bergen County Jail following his arrest. His first appearance in court is pending.
Northern Highlands has been notified of the arrest, according to a report from the Daily Voice, and sent out a message to parents stating that the district "will continue to work very closely with the Prosecutor's Office as the investigation continues."
